Grocery Shopping

There is a small shop on Windsor Palms selling 'basics', orange juice, washing up liquid etc.

At the junction of 192 and Formosa Avenue is a shopping centre which has a Windixi Supermarket.  This is fine for when you first find your way, but is a bit pricey by US standards, and again rather basic, though it does sell meat, veg etc.

Once you have found your feet it is worth heading west along 192 for 1.5 miles from the junction with Formosa Avenue.  You will come to Orange resort on the right, turn in and there is a Publix supermarket on the left.  This is much more like Tesco or Sainsbury's, with all they sell and good quality.

Also, if you are going to stock up and don't mind the drive, there is a Super Target off the I-4 heading East (towards Orlando). Take exit 78 (Conroy Road), then right at the light, then left into the Super Target. It not only has a supermarket, but you can get just about anything else you might need (clothes, electronics, beauty products) at a good price, and would probably be worth the drive
(15-20 minutes on the I-4), especially if you have a large family.

For restaurants closest to Windsor Palms, The Outback Restaurant in the shopping centre on Formosa Gardens Blvd. and Carrabba's Italian Grill have been recommended, as has Key W Kools Oak Grill, almost opposite Formosa Gardens on the other side of Highway 192. The Cracker Barrel is a family restaurant with reasonable prices and especially good for an American style breakfast. There is a new one just beside the shopping centre at Formosa Gardens, on the left-hand side if you are heading West on 192, just past Formosa Gardens Blvd (past Marker 5). Tchoup Chop at the Pacific Hotel, Universal Theme Park, serves Asian cuisine and I have heard that it is worth "dressing up" for this one. Go to www.emerils.com for more details or phone 407-503.CHOP (2467). Heard someone rank this as one of Orlando's finest.

DO NOT GO TO TASTE OF CHINA ON THE SHOPPING PRECINCT!

There are several eateries at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Centre, and several
owners/guests have raved about Villa de Flora. "Ask for a seat overlooking the boat", has been one
recommendation. For further information, try this link:
